Quick Keys is the map of buttons on the sell screen, organised by tabs and pages. Vend allows you to easily assign products as quick keys, rename, reposition and recolour keys, and organise your buttons into tabs and pages. Selection of product variations (size, colour etc) can be handled easily under one button which presents the cashier with a selection of variation options, from a drop down menu.
You can also create one or many templates, and assign them to different registers, so that each store can have a different set of buttons.
1. Create a quick key map
Under Setup > Quick Keys you can create a new quick key template, by clicking the New Layout button, or edit an existing template by clicking its name.
2. Add/EDIT a Tab
Rename the default, or create a new, section or 'tab', by clicking the 'gears' icon.
3. adding products
Then start adding products to the tab by searching the product field (you could also scan products with a barcode scanner, if you use one). A button will be added automatically. Click the button to rename, or add a colour. Click, hold and drag the button or section to reorder.
4. Add Pages
A single screen (page) of quick keys holds 45 keys (5 across, 9 down). To add more keys to a section, simply add another page of keys.
5. Variants And Color
Products with variants (such as a Apple Juice in 3 sizes) can be added as an individual variant (Small Apple Juice) or the master product, which prompts the cashier to choose the variation from a drop down option when they click the quick key.
Adding an individual variant
Search for the product, add it to the quick key map, then click the button and choose the variant you want to add as a unique button, using the drop down selection.
Color the button
You can change the color of a button at your preference.
6. Naming the Quick key
Name your quick key template and save it. Then apply it to your chosen register(s) under Assign Layouts to Register.
When you next load that register, the Quick Key template you created should be available to use.
