The Best Event AFTERDARK at Capitol Theatre: an event POS built for the rush
Three days to prepare. Eight hours of live selling. More than 800 payment transactions. At The Best Event: AFTERDARK in Singapore, Rewardly P2 helped the team keep checkout moving and turn event sales into useful insight.
See the event resultsThe Best Event: AFTERDARK took place at Capitol Theatre, Singapore, on 5 October 2026. For the selling team, the challenge was not merely to accept a card. It was to be ready at short notice, stay mobile in a busy venue, keep each sale moving, and give the organiser a clear account of what happened after the lights went down.

What is an event POS system?
An event POS system lets staff record a sale and take payment at a temporary venue such as a roadshow, festival, pop-up shop or concert. A useful event setup also covers the practical work around that payment: a suitable device, an active payment account, a tested product list, cashier training, live support and a reliable report for settlement. A portable card reader alone cannot show which items sold best or resolve differences between orders and payments.
For AFTERDARK, the priority was a compact checkout that could handle repeated transactions across a long selling window. EISOL selected Rewardly P2 and prepared its payment flow around the event’s requirements.
Three days to go live: the preparation behind a fast checkout
The brief arrived with only three days to get ready. That window had to include setting up card acceptance through the payment gateway, selecting a POS machine that suited high-intensity event selling, and checking that the device was portable enough for the venue. The organiser did not have the luxury of a long rollout.
The team worked backwards from opening time: confirm the merchant and payment configuration, prepare the saleable items, test a complete card transaction on the chosen device, brief cashiers on the normal flow and the retry path, then make support available during trading. A three-day activation is a result of this case, not a promise that every merchant can be onboarded in three days; payment approval, catalogue readiness and venue conditions still determine the schedule.

Eight consecutive hours and more than 800 payment transactions
Rewardly P2 powered eight consecutive hours of selling and processed more than 800 payment transactions. The cashier flow was capable of completing a straightforward transaction in as little as 14 seconds. That is a checkout example, not the average time for all 800-plus payments; real sales vary with basket, customer and payment method.
One payment encountered a technical issue. The team resolved it immediately by completing the payment on a second attempt. Describing the exception matters: a dependable event operation is one that notices an interruption and gives the cashier a clear next action while the queue is still moving.

Why on-site Copilot support mattered
At a busy roadshow or festival, a cashier should not have to troubleshoot a payment while a line waits. EISOL’s event Copilot service gave the team a person to turn to at the moment a problem appeared. In this case, the single payment exception was handled on the spot and the cashier could continue serving.
The value of support is practical: it reduces time lost to uncertainty, protects a sale that might otherwise be abandoned and helps maintain the guest experience. Device selection and payment configuration matter, but support at the venue completes the operating plan.
After the last sale: an executive view of the event
The post-event executive summary gave the organiser more than a payment total. It brought together best-selling items, available country indicators and a detailed payment reconciliation report. Product demand can guide stock for the next event; payment matching helps finance account for captured transactions and investigate exceptions.
Country information from a card payment reflects the card-issuing country, which may differ from a guest’s residence or nationality. It is a useful directional signal when labelled correctly, not a verified count of visitors by country. Likewise, the reconciliation report should distinguish successful payments from retries, refunds and settlement timing.
This is where an event POS becomes a planning tool. The organiser can look beyond how much was collected and ask which products earned attention, which payment routes were used and what needs to change before the next crowd arrives.
What to ask when choosing a POS for an event, roadshow, pop-up or festival
- Can it be ready for this event date? Check payment onboarding, device availability, catalogue preparation and a live test, not just software installation.
- Can the cashier work quickly in the actual space? Try the sale on the proposed portable POS with the real menu, prices and payment method.
- Who helps during the rush? Confirm on-site or immediately reachable support and a documented response to a payment retry.
- Can finance reconcile the day? Ask for transaction-level reports, payment status and a clear route to settlement records.
- What will the organiser learn? Review item performance and suitably labelled customer or payment-market signals for future planning.
Rewardly combines the mobile selling device, configured payment flow, event-day Copilot and post-event reporting into one service plan. The setup for each event should still be scoped against its venue, products, payment approval and expected demand.
Event POS questions organisers ask
How quickly can an event POS be set up in Singapore?
AFTERDARK was prepared in three days. A realistic schedule depends on payment onboarding, catalogue readiness, device stock, connectivity and testing. Start with your event date and payment requirements so the team can assess feasibility.
Is a portable POS enough for a high-volume event?
Portability helps, but the complete setup matters: a saleable item list, enabled payments, rehearsed cashier flow, support during trading and reporting after the event.
Did every AFTERDARK transaction take 14 seconds?
No. Fourteen seconds describes the capability of a straightforward checkout, not the average across the event. Transaction time changes with the basket and payment conditions.
Can payment data show where every visitor came from?
No. Card data can provide a card-issuing country signal, which is not necessarily a guest’s residence or nationality. A verified visitor-country report requires a separate source such as registration data.
Plan the next rush with a clearer playbook
AFTERDARK showed what matters when an event POS has little time to prepare and a full night to perform: a checkout device that fits the venue, an activated payment path, a cashier flow that stays simple, immediate human support and a report that helps the organiser plan the next event.
